MET WITH FORMER SOUTH KOREAN PRESIDENT AND 2000 NOBEL PEACE PRIZE RECIPIENT, KIM DAE-JUNG

On June 10, 1998, I met with former South Korean President and 2000 Nobel Peace Prize recipient, Kim Dae-Jung while I was working for the U.S. Speaker of House of Representatives on the floor of the House. On May 9, 2017, South Korea elected Moon Jae-in as their President for the next 5 years. As a Korean-American, I wish him the best as he leads South Korea during this difficult period of dealing with North Korea. I sincerely hope and wish that he can achieve peace in the Korean peninsula and receive a Nobel Peace Prize, as former Korean President Kim has done.
